Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Overnight in Karatu

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. As you drive through the park, keep an eye out for lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and leopards, as well as a variety of bird species.

After a full day of game viewing, you’ll leave Tarangire and head to Karatu, a town nestled near the Ngorongoro Highlands, where you’ll rest for the night.

Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, set off towards Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you drive, take in the stunning scenery of rolling hills and Maasai homesteads before reaching the vast plains of the Serengeti around midday.

Enjoy a game drive upon arrival, searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and giraffes among the savannah. Depending on the season, you may also witness the world-famous Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Rise early for a morning game drive, an excellent time to spot predators on the hunt. The Seronera region of the Serengeti is particularly known for its high density of big cats, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

After breakfast, continue exploring different areas of the park, following the movements of wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the Serengeti, then spend the afternoon on another exciting game drive.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Karatu

Begin your day with a final early morning game drive in the Serengeti before heading toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into this 600-meter-deep volcanic caldera, home to an astonishing variety of wildlife.

In just a few hours, you have the chance to spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—alongside zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and flamingos. After a morning of wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch on the crater floor, ascend back up and drive to Karatu for your final night in the safari circuit.

Day 5: Karatu to Kilimanjaro International Airport

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Arusha and continue to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for optional activities or last-minute shopping in Arusha before your departure.
